Koh Tao was that tiny island a few years ago where only divers came and those looking for utter tranquility and relaxation. But the peaceful island doesn't have anything left of it.
Koh Tao receives thousands of visitors every day, and it is
illustrated by a walk through the nuclei of Mae Haad Town and Sairee Village.
It now also offers a "full moon party" of its own and a vibrant night
life.
All who has crossed Koh Tao can do nothing but suggest it!
Koh Tao is a' must visit' due to its gorgeous beaches and being one of the best
diving and snorkeling spots in Thailand.

(more or less close) in Thailand as it is a very touristic island.

This is the quickest and most convenient choice if you can
afford internal flights.

Nok Air, Air Asia, Thai Smile, and Thai Lion Air are the
airlines making this voyage.
You need to know as general knowledge that there are three
major ferry companies running these routes to go to Koh Tao, Koh Samui and Koh
Pa Nga: Lomprayah, Songserm and Seatran.
You can purchase Koh Tao tickets at regular prices, with no extra fees.
How to get via Surat Thani to Koh Tao from Bangkok
If you are leaving Bangkok, the sensible thing to do is to

Departures from Surat Thani are provided by the Songserm and
Lomprayah ferry companies.

Chumphon in order to abandon Koh Tao to the south.

approximately 800 baht. On their websites, you can search schedules and rates.

How to get around Koh Tao Tao
Is it possible to walk Koh Tao on foot?
The majority of roads and routes can be completed on foot as
a small island. You can walk around the area, depending on which area of the
island you are staying in, and you would need transport to get to the other
side of the island.
Koh Tao is an island which has a certain altitude, it should
be noted. It has very steep climbs that make it rather long and heavy for
walking tours.
Still, on small excursions, there are some really
fascinating circuits to do. A little bit, we'll describe them to you.
Having by taxi around Koh Tao
There are pickups that do the job of a taxi. As for the
"farang" (tourist in Thai), you must haggle quite the prices, the
prices are much higher than for the locals. You should wait until the taxi is complete
and the fare would be cheaper if you are not in a hurry.
If you want a cab for yourself, it will double the cost. You
can ask for 200 baths for a journey of about 3 km to give you a guide.
Scooter: Is driving a motorbike on Koh Tao safe?
One of the most common ways of getting around the island is
renting a motorbike on Koh Tao.
We advise you that if you want to ride all over the
island by motorbike and reach the most secret beaches, you must have driving
skills.
You need to have a foreign driver's license with a Form A
license to drive a motorbike on Koh Tao. As many people drive simply with the
B, this is important to remember, because this can be a fine if the police need
your permit, or if you have an accident, an issue with insurance.
Much of the roads entering the bays are unconditioned, and
wide dirt and gravel slopes are full of giant holes and potholes.
It is not easy to travel along Koh Tao's main paved tracks.
In fact, for this reason, there are a lot of accidents. Many tourists driving
motorbikes with bandages on their legs and arms can easily be seen. It is no
longer the irrigation of a large accident, but also the burns that, due to the
type of terrain, you will experience in a simple fall.
It takes about 200 baths a day to rent a motorcycle on Koh
Tao. You've got bikes and automatic scooters going.
You sign a contract when you rent the bike as you look after
the damage caused to the bicycle. Therefore, check the condition of the bike
well, and take the images that you think are needed if you see that it has
damaged or scratched areas.
They ask you to leave your passport as collateral for
certain organizations, and for another sum of money.
In our view, it is important to wear a helmet (which we
rented on Koh Tao motorcycles). We see a lot of travelers traveling on roads
that are in really poor shape without a helmet, which we don't understand
because they certainly wouldn't do it in their home countries.
Am I able to cycle around Koh Tao?
It is the least used transport on the island and it is
rented by very few residents. It's a cheaper way to travel if you're fit, but
like we said, you'll have to face steep climbs and dizzying descents to go from
one part of the island to another.
Switch Koh Tao around by boat taxi
A long tail boat tour is another common way of touring the
island. We will clarify what it is, and its average prices, in the section on
the activities and places that can interest you in Koh Tao.
On Koh Tao, make your mark
Koh Tao has a couple of fun projects if you have a little
corner on your trip to take a cable on the island.
Clínic of Animals. Aid the stray dogs on the island
We met Jae, a veterinarian who operates a clinic for
ramshackle animals. It supports stray dogs (there are many), and attempts to
sterilize what their skill allows.
She would not welcome "short-term" volunteers on
her own, since it takes more time to deal with stray dogs. Drop by the clinic
directly to speak to her if you think you should contribute anything!
You should bring him old sheets, necklaces and that kind of
thing that always goes well for dogs if you are a dog lover!
Teaching at your local school
Koh Tao has a public school that accepts voluntary work in
the medium/long term. In their coordinator's view, M. They had no particular
project right now, but if you pass through the school, the individual who wants
to spend some time in school doing English conversation with the kids, some
kind of intense activity, etc., is always welcome.
They had housing for volunteers before, but not now.
And all sorts of school supplies are welcome, of course!
